Brewer's Memorial Ale Fest

The festival was created in memory of Rogue Brewmaster John Maier's faithful companion Brewer, who passed away on May 20th 2006. Brewer grew up in the brewery and eventually rose to the rank of chairman of Rogue Ales. The dog-friendly festival is held inside the Rogue Ales Brewery and includes 30+ microbreweries, live music, doggy musical chairs, dog wash, dog dancing and celebrity dog look-alikes (Rin-Tin-Tin, Lassie, Benjy, and of course, Brewer).

Clambake and Seafood BBQ and Pet Parade

NW Beach Drive at the Nye Beach Turnaround
The eighth annual Newport Clambake and Seafood BBQ will include food and fun on the beach, all with a historical theme that recalls the days when Nye Beach was actually a separate village from Newport, connected by a muddy set of wooden planks. The event will begin with a pet parade at the Performing Arts Center at 9:30 a.m., ending at the turnaround at 9:45 a.m. A free shuttle to the event will be available at the courthouse, on Olive Street, one block from Highway 101.

Celebrate the Northwest's vital, wild-caught seafood industry and the men and women who make it thrive. This event includes the Great Newport Wild Seafood Cook-off on Saturday--admission is $20 and includes fabulous seafood. Twenty teams will battle for the $1,000 culinary award and the honorary title of "Best at the Bay." Sunday's events include a Wild Seafood Auction, where the public will be able to connect with fishermen and processors and bid on seafood. A public market will be open on Saturday and Sunday with vendors selling art, clothing, food, and, of course, fresh, wild-caught fish.
